GCCP and BrainMood join the CoffeeSights platform

For Immediate Release

ITALY — September 10, 2026 — CoffeeSights has integrated two established coffee data projects into its platform: GCCP, an out-of-home coffee-pricing project that converts periodically collected prices into a live, USD-comparable index, and BrainMood, a coffee-to-mood-colour framework. Both continue to operate as their own dedicated sites — coffeeconsumerprice.com and brainmood.coffee respectively — while now also surfacing directly on CoffeeSights, alongside its own market and machine intelligence. Bringing this data and perspective together in one place is part of CoffeeSights' ongoing effort to better meet the needs of coffee businesses and enthusiasts alike.

GCCP: a live index built on real-world prices

GCCP (Global Coffee Consumer Price) periodically collects real-world out-of-home coffee prices and converts them into a live index — GCCI, based at 100 — and a weighted basket of core coffee products, benchmarked across roughly 150 cities worldwide and expressed in USD for global comparability. On CoffeeSights' Prices page, HORECA operators can benchmark against real out-of-home prices worldwide and spot where they're leaving margin on the table; retail category managers and private-label buyers can track volume-driven, promotion-heavy dynamics before they hit the P&L; and brand and pricing teams can gauge their premiumization headroom against a live regional ranking. What's published there is a public layer — the complete GCCP dataset, covering every tracked city, historical series and custom breakdowns by area or continent, is available under licence, and a bespoke pricing analysis can be commissioned separately.

BrainMood: an established coffee-to-mood-colour framework

BrainMood connects coffee to mood through a simple chain: coffee's origin, species, process, roast and extraction define its structure; structure shapes flavour perception; flavour perception influences cognitive and emotional response; and that response forms a mood, represented visually through one of eight official colours — Calm, Balance, Uplift, Memory, Clarity, Focus, Creative and Alert. For roasters, BrainMood offers a way to match each coffee's own structure and flavour to its official colour — a layer on the bag, alongside tasting notes rather than a replacement for them. For coffee shops, it maps menu and room by mood rather than by origin alone, and works independently of whether a given roaster has already applied it. For coffee lovers, the atlas at brainmood.coffee is free, always — start from the mood you're after, discover matching coffees, or browse and compare across the colour map.

Built on established knowledge

BrainMood's flavour profiles are drawn from consolidated specialty coffee knowledge — origin literature, SCA references and established roaster tasting notes — while coffees submitted by partners are profiled from their own technical data sheet or sensory panel results.

Part of a broader view

GCCP and BrainMood are the first of the specialised, partner-built layers integrated into CoffeeSights, each keeping its own dedicated site while surfacing here too. It reflects CoffeeSights' approach of connecting different layers of the coffee industry — supply, pricing, equipment and consumer experience — rather than building every layer from scratch or treating each as a separate, disconnected dataset.
